Distinctive Unit Insignia

Description
A Gold color metal and enamel device 1 3/16 inches (3.02 cm) in height overall consisting of a shield blazoned:  Buff, fretty Sable, a lions face Gules, on a chief Gules a cross Argent charged with two double-headed S spanners saltirewise of the second.  Attached below the shield a Red scroll doubled and inscribed PRIDE SERVICE SUPPORT in Gold.

Symbolism
Buff and scarlet are the colors traditionally associated with U.S. Army Support units.  Supply is represented by buff.  The white cross reflects the medical mission of the unit and implies purity and integrity.  The black crossed double-headed S spanners allude to the solidity and support of the units mission in maintenance.  The heraldic frets are emblematic of the interdependent and multiple support capabilities of the unit; their interlacing reflects the various aspects of the units mission and its importance to total military preparedness.  The lions face is symbolic of the units pride, strength and determination underscoring the units motto.
